The transition into college is one of the most important milestones in a student’s life. For first-generation students, however, this step can be especially challenging. Entering higher education without a family roadmap, these students often face questions about where to turn for guidance, how to balance competing demands, and how to build the skills needed to succeed.
The Harding Center and the Harding Advantage Scholars Program, located in the Learning Center, exist to meet those needs directly. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide first-generation students with the tools, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive academically, socially, and professionally.
